Teacher's are influenced just as much as the students are to use technology in the classroom. One thing that influences us is our day to day lives using technology personally, so we naturally want to bring that into our professional or educational life as well. Student's also get excited to use new technologies and learn through watching videos, playing games, and doing hands on activities. Teachers love this because their students engage better when using phones, tablets and other things their used to using at home.

There are many standards that students and educators must abide by in order to thrive in a constantly evolving technological world. One standard students must use in the classroom is titled "digital citizen." This standard is all about digital etiquette. It is important to teach this in class because today's kids are living through their social media accounts, and must be careful with what they're are posting online.
One standard that is a little above my skill set, and I believe needs some work in classrooms everywhere is the "global collaborator." This standard is explained as "Students use digital tools to broaden their perspectives and enrich their learning by collaborating with others and working effectively in teams locally and globally" (ISTE). I believe it needs some work because the digital age has become comfortable with the solitary use of technology. We sit in a room surrounded by our friends, but we each are in our own world on our own phones.

A digital native is described as anyone who was born in the age of technology as it is today. I believe the children being born in the 2000's and above can be considered digital natives, because the second they come into the world, they are given an iPad and taught how to take selfies.
I think this statement is true for our time, but once we are teachers there will be even another generation given even more technology that we, as current digital natives, will have no idea how to use.
